This mini-TRAINING MANUAL is for the basic understanding of: the major components involved, their functions, and the materials of which they are constructed, deterioration during their service-life, various maintenance requirements, specific rehabilitation techniques, and decision-making procedures.

This MANUAL, unlike any other, has been specially crafted for helping the (senior) Engineers-in-Charge of a major Bridge Project that they have to both ADMINISTER CONTRACTUALLY as well as INSPECT EACH OF ITS COMPONENTS - all in the same breath - in patently assiduous and nail-biting workman-like detail !! Chapters 1 to 9 describe and discuss in GREAT DETAIL as to "how to ADMINISTER the CONTRACT" for a major Bridge under construction. The main aspects and the crucially important subjects covered are: ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES, QA and QC, COMMUNICATIONS, CONTRACT MANAGEMENT, possible CONTRACTUAL PROBLEMS, Important CONDITIONS of FIDIC and WORLD BANK CONTRACTS, CONTRACT PRICE ESCALATION, CONTRACT MONITORING PROCESS, etc., etc., etc.
