About this Training Series # 8
After tracing the development of the Bridge-FORM and how the superstructure section improved from a SOLID SLAB to Arch, to VOIDED SLAB, to CONTINUOUS BEAM, to BOX-FORM, in REINFORCED and PRESTRESSED CONCRETE in COMPOSITE SECTION and STRUCTURAL STEEL, and further, after studying the nuances of Contractors tricks-of-the-trade, very detailed quantity-figures of various types of super and substructures as well as of various specific structural elements, have been given. Various types of RIVERINE BRIDGES and VARIOUS STRUCTURAL FORMS OF FLYOVERS have been considered.
A brief explanatory of the GLOBAL RESILIENT TRANSPORT PROGRAM, the CLIMATE CHANGE EFFECTS ON BRIDGES, and the MEANS OF MITIGATING THEIR ADVERSE EFFECTS have been presented in a compendium (concise but comprehensive) manner.
